The Hamptons

Amagansett dunes are a great spot for an afternoon picnic

I’m renting a summer share with a few friends from my charity group, the WGIRLS NYC. The house is located in Amagansett between East Hamton and Montauk. It’s a wonderful escape from the City and on Saturday mornings you can walk to the local farmer’s market for locally grown seasonal fruit, grab a shrimp or lobster roll from the Amagansett Seafood Store and head to the dunes for a picnic on the beach.

There’s a few restaurants right on Main Street in town, including Exile Bar & Grill and Mary’s Marvelous. Heading east on the Montauk Highway is Cryil’s, a happy hour spot known for their infamous BBC (Baily’s Banana Colada) or stop by the Clam Bar for an order of  tuna “nuggets”.  Keep heading east for an array of dining options on Lake Montauk where the commercial and leisure fishing charters dock. It’s some of the freshest seafood and sushi I’ve ever had—not an easy feat since I lived in Florida for 2 years prior to moving to NYC.
